    An Impartial Witness is a good story but it is not so well written and plotted as the Ian Rutledge series. i was put off by the repetitiveness of the action and the two-dimensional quality of the characters. impartial witness: A person who is independent of a clinical trial, cannot be unfairly influenced by those involved with the trial, attends the informed consent process if the subjects or their legally acceptable representative cannot read, and who reads the informed consent form and any other written information supplied to the subject.
